Capturing Motion

Jumping Beans

Describe:  A boy and girl are depicted jumping, holding hands with cheerful expressions on their faces. The background is blurred and their action is captured with their expressions on their faces in focus. There are benches and trees in the background of the photo.

Analyze: This photo is well contrasted, even within the photo, with the girl more darkly shaded than the boy. His body is out of focus, but his expression is still intact. This photo presents a light and cheery tone to itself through the contrast and the action being presented. The image displays the bodies becoming more in focus the farther away the image is from the camera. The expressions of the models are captured and are in focus. This was done during the process of using stop action, though this was accidental, it concluded with satisfactory results.

Interpret: This image is a light photo showing the innocent joys of childhood, capturing motion of happiness. This photo was taken outdoors.

Judge: I think that this photo was successful at fulfilling the prompt to capture motion. I think it was successful because it captured motion with the image still intact and the picture was inviting.
