This particular project was assigned to us to assess ourselves on the portrait reading. We then had to take our own photograph of a portrait using natural light. In this image I used my sister and wanted to capture her doing something natural, while still composing an image for photography. The light it coming from a ceiling window above her at around 1-3 in the afternoon, an observed time period when the sun shines in really hard in my home. This natural light enhances my photo and kind of gives a message of inspiration with the guitar. I had an old vase of dead roses which I thought would look really pretty in the background of the image. This lesson helped me learn what the difference between a snapshot and a portrait is. And I think as my first digital image, I did really well. Overall, I like it better than black and white photography and look forward to more projects in digital photography.
